Eighteen years ago the beautiful landscape and mountains of the Karoo in Sth Africa inspired Elsona into creativity. This led to an amazing discovery of talent amongst the people who lived on their farm. Today they have come a long way and some 40 wonderfully skilled women and men are providing for their families as a direct result of this project. The ceramics are all handmade from raw materials sourced locally. They are hand "thrown" on a potters wheel, dried and painted, glazed and fired. There are roughly eight processes in the production of each piece, which takes approx. 6 weeks in total.
