Juju Beadwork

This project empowers Zulu women and youth from previously disadvantaged rural communities surrounding eThekwini, Sth Africa. Working for over 30 years with approx 120 crafters from the same families has created a positive change, with hope and a future, through individual training, skills development, and job creation. The beaders are able to work from their homes, allowing them to raise children, tend to the elderly, their crops, and livestock, whilst at the same time earning a stable income. This helps maintain the values and traditions of their culture, as the mothers and grandmothers are usually the backbone of the rural society.
